This was a gift granted
that we might,
through nurture and husbandry,
earn our way back to Eden,
never a command
to ravish
and ruin the earth
for profit and ease.
When a god
kindly provides you
a fresh creation
and a second chance,
be aware that
the work of your hands
engenders providence.
What you make of it,
you make of yourself.
